Sounds about right. When my job was still coke up until a few years ago they apparently only paid $16/hr too. They had to up the pay because they couldn't get any half decent drivers (I can see why lol).

$16 an hour to drive a tractor trailer is cheap. I saw Swamprat said they had to p the pay lol

I wouldn’t do it for $16 an hour. I’m pretty sure you are lumping the soda too

I’m just trying to get a local job that pays decent. Doesn’t matter what. Want to make around $50k my first year which is doable.

I know NFI pays local drivers $.40 a mile. Was thinking about them too.

Don't sell yourself short, or even get out of bed for .40/mile.

If, as you say it doesn't matter what the work is, Sysco in Warners, NY is hiring and they take new drivers. Advertising 77k, make no mistake though... you will earn it.

Thanks for the input. I certainly ain’t afraid of hard work. Especially if it means providing a better life for my wife and daughter.

If it's case pay that's awesome. You get some time in and take the right trip and build it up you can make a metric #### ton of money.

That’s my plan. Get outta debt, put 15% of my pay into retirement and mutual funds, and retire early.

And, on case pay, even if you aren't on the right trip, managing to improve your efficiency and speed (while doing it as safely as possible) will increase your pay from a pure mathematical stance of time spent running the route.
