No, talking about negotiating the rate that he gets for letting us pull his and him booking the loads. Sorry, didn't mean to confuse anyone. LOL

At this point, we are pulling his trailer. He has three of his own trucks, but 15 trailers. We are NOT leasing it from him, but he gets an extra 5% for letting us use it. He also does all maintenance on the trailer, we will pay for it, but he reimburses us for it.

Not me but I only haul grain. They don't care how long you wait...They also don't care how long it takes to load it either.

Yes and no. Meaning, if the delay is their fault, no room for product, broke down leg, etc. Then yes. If they have 15 trucks in front of us, and they are constantly unloading, then no.

Man, that sucks. I hate it when companies do that. They just shoot them selfs in the foot. :biggrin_25510: Some people need common sense classes. :yes2557:

Yes, Their equipment isn't all that great, trailers in bad shape. Safer rating is high also. Sad, but all the grain companies care about is price.

They will go under it is just a matter of time.

The Latinos, that is bad. They sure do screw up the end dump buisness down this way. They will bid a job cheap and then start on it and then leave part way thru becuase they either found out that they were running for nothing or found something else. Then they want the locals to come and haul for the same rate but they stick together and refuse and then the rate will go up. What is said they keep letting the Latinos do this, you would think they would learn after awhile.

Guess you could go with Esclipse, M does but not sure if he is still happy with them or not. Thought I read a post where he wasn't too happy. Pharm doesn't use their trailer but M does. You probably might know this if you read most of the posts here.

Haven't a clue if good or bad just what I hear from Pharm or M.

    Don't know about H & M have a fancy website.

Skyview was 2 stars out of 5 for speed of payments, according to a business report

I talked to Skyview and they have a fee for everything. I pay my own way, fuel, insurance, tag, etc.. I don't rely on a company to hold my hand but those guys have a fee for everything. I have seen some nice rides over their but I thought I was talking to Landstar or Prime. They want a $500 up front deposit for use of their fuel card. lol. He started talking about a fee for this and a fee for that and when he got done I said is their anything left to take home to put food on the table. Come to find out both Skyview and H & M or into the truck lease purchase plan so I guess they are like Prime.

My issue is my truck payment, I bought a new Pete 379 in Jan. 07. I had a nice haul for two years at first running to Canada and then one trip a week to Vegas and back home, that all was done I jumped in doing oilfield and gas work about the time that all went south. So I am looking for something that will pay the bills. When you have a $1800 a month payment plus insurance it can get tough during these times. lol. So I am looking to get rid of it and buy maybe a used Melton T600 so I can cut my payments in half.

That would be tough.....I was thinking about a new trailer until the bottom fell out. I have a T-600 they are a good truck and usually get good fuel mileage. Halfing your payments would help considerably.

Don't see too many new trucks hauling grain but there are a few. I'm guessing hauling more than grain, with the way the grain rates are right now.

I see some new ones pulling hoppers along with new trailers but most are hauling feed ingridents I guess. I have a friend that has a 07' Pete 379 and a 08' Timpte. His total payments on both are $2800 a month. Runs his own authority hauling for one broker, mostly runs NE, KS, OK, TX and AR.

At the end of the day Eclipse is about like anywhere else. I'll have a great week followed by a meager week.

Right now I'm about to deadhead 623 miles to Union City TN to take feathermeal to Strykersville, NY (Near Buffalo) another 810 miles. 70/ton or $1750 for the load. Works out to $1.10 all miles after broker fee.

Eclipse does pay quickly, but once they have all originals. I couldnt do without the fuel card though. That system works really well for me and I don't have to negotiate upfront money on every load like load board drivers do.

I can always make more than my expenses which is the big thing of course. I never run at a loss, but of course not as high as I'd like all the time either.
