Yes... but only during summer... from December till end of March.. and on holidays... other than that, would have to find another way to make money in that area.. that becomes a "desert"... all the business is near the major road... the streets near the beach become pretty much deserted... :biggrin_1square1:
If I had relatives or anybody I could rely on and trust, I would try to do something with that house.. but I have nobody... and I don't plan on living there... :biggrin_25512:

So... if the internet signal is not too slow here.. I will try to post some pictures of the house... some of the few cosmetic and functional problems one can see... inside and outside...
BTW.. the locks are sooo rusted... had a hard time to open the only door that still works...

Inside the house.. everything is rotten.... doors, windows, wood, metal, iron, hinges, handles, locks.... in Brasil, buildings and houses are built with concrete and bricks... that house wasn't built as it should... and the ceiling is falling now due to infiltration, humidity, salt... the house has been broken into a few times... neighbors always put the invaders to run but a lot of damage has been done... broken doors and windows.... some don't even close any more....

It is sad to see it in such a state, but I sure understand your situation too. If you have no plans to live there why let it keep taking your hard earned money.
It would be best to get what you can and get out from under it, but some folks get sentimental and it over rules practical, glad you are thinking straight.

The windows on the front of the house are the most damaged because the rain hits them really hard and the salty air from the sea and the strong winds.... :angry2:

    DSC00969.JPG

The view from upstairs should be great... but dad built a small window upstairs facing the roof of the house... :biggrin_1square1: And the roof is "weird"... it is high on the edges and low in the middle... so, when it rains, a lot of water accumulates right there and causes some infiltration... I have spent some money sealing that roof... not sure how it is now...

    DSC00971.JPG
This is the covered veranda upstairs... I wanted to go out to the uncovered veranda... but will have to cut the padlock or the chain... couldn't open it... next time then...

Yes sir... it's sad... even though I didn't live there... but I have lots of memories... and to know that my dad and my mom built them with their hands.... with their sweat and blood... :biggrin_2557:
But nothing lasts forever... and when situations change, we have to change and move on....
I want to sell it for the price of the land... and I will be lucky if I can find a buyer... Cause whoever has the money, would prefer an empty land... not something that will most likely have to be destroyed in order to build something new...
Brasil is going thru terrible economic times... as usual.... But... this time I am putting a lot of efforts into this... don't want to leave this country without getting rid of this...

This is a picture of the house back in 2011... I copied from Google maps...

Back then, that house was for sale... if you can see a sign on the window upstairs.. that was a for sale sign.. and we had fixed everything in the house, painted and all....
We have tried to sell that house too many times... and always ended up renting it out.... but we only lost money... :biggrin_1square1:

Man that is sad, it was a beautiful house in a beautiful place. I suspect it was much like a palace where it is located.
Might even have been able to spy some of them there famous bikinis from upstairs. lol

Love those potatoes with lots of nice seasoning and olive oil... hmmmmm :p
They have corn, green beans, small boiled eggs, various kinds of olives, they have sea food... so many kinds of creams and seasoning... one can get lost with so much....

    DSC00915.JPG

    And cooked pumpkin...
    DSC00912.JPG
Here in Brasil, they don't just eat raw broccoli and raw carrots, raw this and raw that like in the USA...:biggrin_25512: they cook vegetables.. and season them.. nicely... hmmmmmm :D

    DSC00914.JPG

Look at ALL these dishes... and tell me if that is not a lot of great food... :D

    DSC00906.JPG

They cook all this FRESH in the morning... from starch... and serve at lunch.... Are you guys hungry yet...? :)

    DSC00916.JPG

This is not only salads.... :biggrin_25512: They have different kinds of beans, different kinds of rice, meat of many kinds, various soups, many kinds of salads, beans with pork, beans without meat, brown rice, white rice, cooked vegetables with all kinds of seasonings, french fries, other food that there is not in America, and other special gourmet, elaborated dishes that I don't even know the name... they have pasta, sea food, fried food, fried chicken... and sooo much more.... all in one small restaurant...

Even the most carnivore person here.. Mr. @MACK E-6 ... would like to try all those many dishes and I bet they would love the food in this restaurant... :yes2557:

Oh yeah.. and they also have slices of fruits and deserts.. not shown in the pictures...

And that's why I will never enjoy the food in the USA... :biggrin_25512: :biggrin_25513: ...when I see folks here posting images of some fried meat and bread and some nachos or french fries soaked in ketchup and mustard... saying that's "great"... I feel like... :biggrin_2552::biggrin_2556: :biggrin_25523:
