Your kidding, right ? Shifting with the jakes to bring the rpms down fast..... why ? I laugh at individuals that shift with jakes. I don’t see them as much anymore. But I guess it’s a cool thing, just like that Extended shifter.......

It's necessary in some hilly areas, and or mud. But hardly ever. It takes some practice to do that with a series 60. I just like the sounds of that truck best.

I should add a series 60 does not drop rpm when you take your foot off the go pedal. They run different than CAT, or Cummins.

    Diesel Dave Thanks this.

I don't care for a loud truck, personally, but always reminds me of a guy I used to run with years ago when I ran a bucket. We were hauling demo to a dump doing short 3 mile turns. We had a pretty good hill, probably 7% 1/2 mile, down to the dump. Ole boy had an S Series tri-axle with an M11 Cummins with a short 5" straight pipe with a turnout right by the top of the driver's door. Hot day, no AC, window down. That thing would cackle so loud it set car alarms off a mile away. Asked ole boy at the end of the day: "How do you stand that all day?" His response? "I just crank the stereo up louder..."

Lol, no. I drove a 15 Cascadia that had a very loud throaty sounding turbo.

Everytime I was speeding up after a construction zone or accident people's head would turn and look to see what was going on. I was just using moderate throttle to get back up to speed ,but from the looks on people's faces I was some angry trucker pissed off and hammering on it or something. :D

It was worse than a turbo on an old D9H Dozer, I kid you not.

The only time my jake is on. Is the freeway.

Western Express has a driver. Who never shuts his off. He comes barking in. Loads up a container. He'll wrap the engine out to make the hydraulics work faster then lets off the gas. IDIOT.

Right foot. If you ease through each gear instead of putting pedal to the metal, the turbo will not boost up as hard.

That loud turbo while that you hear? It was coming through the breathers. Big filters on the side of the hood? You’re going to hear a big turbo really loud.

The videos you posted aren’t a true indication of the turbo. FYI.

Turbo making excessive high wheezing sound could also be an indication that it is going bad. Mine did that at higher boost levels and soon after it failed.
