~ Eating Healthy on the Road ~

    Good question, and I’m pondering the same for myself. I’ve lost 150 pounds over three the old fashioned way, eating right 90% and hitting the weights.

    I imagine keto will be hard on the road, but if you are fasting or doing One meal a day then you could make it work.

    I plan on just doing low cal (1700-2000), low carb (sub 100) by the way of meal prepping. My carbs will be eaten mostly in the morning.

    Make your own keto jerky or pork belly kept in the fridge. Chicharrons and peanuts keep easy as a snack. Prep some cloud bread (made from eggs) and make breakfast sandwiches with cheese and cold bacon. Or get a microwave.

    Well u have 2 choices out here as a driver. Eat healthy and make ur own food , or eat in truck stop and eat #### food.. There is not alot of food out here readily availbe like it is as a regular person working a regular job. Its very tough to keep up that healthy lifestyle. I have managed to find my way somehwere in the middle of it all . i have my truckstop i like to go that have salads and sandwhichs or sit down resturants. I csnt remeber last time i had fast food. I will pick ramen noodles over fast food. I barely just got my first fridge in a truck. So im learning how to put stuff in it. Before now i always drove small sleepers for flatbed. Not much room for anything so never had a place for a fridge ao ive got a mental list of all the good food places ive found over the years. Good luck to u but it aint gonna be easy keeping up with that lifestyle out here.truckstops dont cater to it

    I just was researching the patotoe hack. It sounds promising. Just in short periods you can drop hard to loose weight.

Went from 280 @ 6ft down to 193 over a 2 year stretch. Hitting 1 1/2-2 hours at PF between my dedicated runs Tuesday-Friday (using Saturday just to get back home) and then hitting my heavier days on Sunday and Monday. Past 4 months went on a long cruise, put my wife through trucking school and now training her on this FedEx run. I don’t have the time I did have and training her.     OP sounds like a millennial snowflake with that post.

    I've recently gotten into cooking on the truck. It's probably a good idea to run an extension cord to the catwalk if you want to pan cook so splatter doesn't get all over your living quarters. The instant pot can be nice depending on what you want to eat, and works great as a rice cooker as well. You kind of start running out of room to put it all though, and finding the time to go shopping can be difficult if you're running flat out. Cooking and clean up (not including washing dishes, just wiping) takes about an hour, and when you're limited to 10 hours it really cuts your available down time significantly. Right now I only have a single induction burner, so it limits my cooking options. A second would allow you to simultaneously cook meat and veggies if you were looking at efficiency.
