I'd say look at the whole picture.
1. Do you want to spend more time with the wife.
2. Can you guys work well together.
3. What is your long term goals. (Stay company, go O/O,)
4. What are you going to pull. ( Skateboard, bottle, box, fridge, ECT)
5. Do you really want to start a new career.
In my case it was better. I was diesel mechanic for almost 5 years at a local shop after I got out of the Army. I make more money, but I wasn't make your kind of money.
I stay out 2 to 3 weeks at a time. I love my family, but I never want them to go without again. Don't sound like you have that problem brother. I think it would be something you guys sit and discuss. Weigh all the pros and cons. Good luck and keep updated.

Looking to make more money pay off debt and retire in 15 years. Will never do that at my current job.... some it is are fault... some is Colorado is expensive to live in. Another one is that square one isn't so bad. You leave a job. You can have another driving job before the sun goes down. Much demand for drivers. Especially in Denver! Many can't pass the drug test.
