Yes sir Young man- And don't let all the negativity you hear get inside your head-

I spoke with a western express driver oh about 5-6 months ago waiting in line to load- Older gentleman with a good attitude- Had a nice new truck from them and he said he was treated fairly-and making money.

Go in Strong- be safe- Do what they tell you to do- And Good Luck. I personally dont know you but From What I read on why Swift fired you- Your the Better person- You drove safe- but according to Swift- You were too safe.

Hold up. Surprise update. It seems that System Transport is considering taking me as well... which, obviously, is an offer I'd take over Western Express in a heartbeat. Let's see how this unfolds...

Congrats on the job. I also say go flatbed and little by little collect your own gear.

Look around at the mega pee lots. Count the ratio of vans to flats. Think of how many more drivers have van experience than flat and thus how much more replaceable they are. By the time youve hauled it all, youll be able to say piss on it to any company and have your next job in a day. There will always be a shortage of flatbedders.

In mom and pop flatbed, your resume is a bunch of duffel bags, milk crates and buckets full of edge protection, hand ratchets, movin g blankets, winch bars and binders. They see that pile of junk in the back of your pickup with an i can start today attitude and its go ahead and get your pee test done on the way home. See you tomorrow son.

Never beg a dipspit safety moron again. Tell em no, and they say "ok."

Western Express would be good. They’re not in a hurry to fire you. You’ve really got to #### up bad. They’re pretty hands off. The OP really needs to figure out following distance. But he’s heard that enough.

I spent (1) year and (1) day at Western before applying elsewhere and getting in with a small fleet owner ( @Dave_in_AZ ) at Landstar. I think I got bonus points by making it a year at WE. LOL

I did not see where his problem had anything to do with following distances, just not braking, when someone pulled over in front of him. I would never work where they even had a way of knowing about this deal, period.

Definatly system transport would be way better, they are a really good flatbed outfit, have some of the best training, probably could even keep u on west coast regional account...let us know what happens

Here is what the OP wrote in his second post in this thread...
"my safety score was too high from all the following distance events."

It was not about hard braking, it was for following too closely too many times.

Once it gets to a certain point they will probably cut you loose at the nearest terminal, because they consider you such a road hazard.

No one gets those events without being called about it, each and every time.
There is video to go along with it, which both you and your DM watch at the same time.
The driver has the chance to explain the event. Safety points are not added unless the driver fails to have a decent reason.
If you constantly follow too closely, as in tailgating, you will get fired if you don't get your act straight.

People rag on Swift for monitoring things, and the same people rag on Swift for being such an unsafe company.
But Swift is not the unsafe party, but some drivers are unsafe.
Swift tries to do their part. They give warning after warning. If the driver ignores those warnings and continues to drive unsafely... what is Swift supposed to do about it?
Because we all know, whenever a Swift truck is involved in an accident everyone blames the company as much as the driver. Or more.

    I have a safety score of 0.
It is not that hard to do.
