Easy there hoss, my post was aimed at starmac, not you.

If he had said the earth was flat, I would have pointed out his error. He said that swift is crazy for their policy and I pointed out where his assumptions led him astray.

I know what you have said, and I know what I know about Onguard, Detroit Assurance, and Bendix. I also am relying on 8 years of being a trainer and experiencing first hand drivers following too closely and not being aware of it and/or not reacting to a devolping situation. If a driver is popping following distance events, that driver is doing something wrong or the equipment is in error. After the second "this is some bs" critical event I would have my truck in the shop, because I read what they gave me at orientation and understood that too many critical events would lead to termination.

I don't know how Swift 's point system works, but it takes work to be fired over critical events. It is entirely possible that they wanted to fire you for some other reason but used the critical events because they are on better legal ground. I will happily concede that point.

That right there is a win win. One when you learned the lesson and then again when you got free of Swift. My advice going forward FWIW buy your own dash cam

    That's too true.

No regard for signs or lines, he just parked where he was when his time ran out.

He even abandoned the ark. 2000 years later and it still hasn't been found.

First off, if the lords willing I will never see Chicago (or anywhere else with that much traffic again). lol

Now I sort of addressed what I would do or not do in my post, when I said if they passed me and were moving faster than I was and I knew what was in front of them, meaning I would do nothing at all if there was nothing in front of them, and they were pulling away. in the case you described, I would probably opt for choice #2, but then again every scenario, so one of the others could happen too.

Swift can run there rigs anyway they want to, and I am quite sure that accident rates have gone up since they have raised the speed on their trucks, and am sure that is one contributing factor, but not the only one either. I have besides driven a truck, also been a mechanic and shop owner, I can say for sure that some sensors and anything really is more sensitive than others. I do not know the OP from Adam, do not know his driving habits, nor how sensitive the system on his truck is, What I am saying ids just because it was going off, I am not going to condemn the man over some computer sensor, right or wrong.

Luckily none of this type of stuff was around and I never spent any appreciable amount of time in a company truck, because trucking has treated me well, and I would probably not driven at all if I had to go through and drive what these new guys have to to get started.

    LMAO. Well played

covenant.......an agreement between God and his people, in which God makes promises to his people and, usually, requires certain conduct from them. In the Old Testament, God made agreements with Noah, Abraham, and Moses.”
