On boarding. You will arrive on Sunday. You will give a copy of your license at this time. They will go over your app to double check it. Do not lie about anything. They will give you your badge . Your hotel. And your debit card for evening meals. Monday the shuttle leaves the hotel at 0645 sharp. Don’t be late. Make sure you have your license and I9 documents. Your class will be split into two groups. Half the day in class. The other half is to show them what you know. Do not be a supertrucker. You will drive. City, country or highway. You will do a pretrip. You will back. The backing is tight. Take your time. At the end of the day someone will show you what they expect on the pretrip. And they will give you pointers on backing. Take notes. Tuesday-You will do it all again. But you should be better because they told you what they expected. They are looking to see if you learn from your mistakes. They will say very little on purpose. If they say something to you. Pay attention. Take constructive criticism. Third day. This is the day. Don’t hit curbs. Follow all traffic laws. Pass your pretrip. Back it between the trailers. You are in. If you fail. You have another chance on a Thursday. The first tier bus leaves the hotel Thursday morning at 0645. They don’t tell you if you pass on Wednesday. The ones that have to do it again on Thursday will be on the 0730 bus. They want to see how you handle stress. And it’s stressful. They won’t say a lot to you. Good luck.

Another suggestion. Wash your clothes. Be neat. You walk around with your pants around your ###. You won’t make it. There is a professional image to uphold here. I was surprised at some of the dress. This shouldn’t be something that needs to be explained.

They will feed you lunch each day. Breakfast is obviously served at the hotel. Again. For the love of god for you supertruckers. They don’t care how you have done it for the last twenty years. Keep your comments on how you think it should be done to yourself. If you can’t. Stay home. You won’t make it. Be respectful. Pay attention. And try to relax.! There is a certain standard expected here. And I am going to guess a lot of the senior drivers aren’t happy this is how new drivers are getting hired. I understand that to a certain extent. But I also believe I earned this opportunity. They won’t just hand you a job. Trust me. You will earn it over these three days. Good luck drivers.
