    Thank you so much!!
Yeah I figured we'd be opening a can of worms if we took it to a scale house. We will run with what we have until we can get another trailer.

    Good thinking. Never incriminate yourself!!

For this very reason I had Loadmax build me a 39' deck length trailer. They will shorten the neck on their lowboy style trailer, but refused me on a low-pro deckover. I'm not sure why they wouldn't do it. A 7'-7.5' neck would still have enough clearance.

It also only seems like it will get worst too. Dodge has grown from 154" in '99 to 169" current. GM has stayed at 167" from '01-current. Ford '99 was 172" to 176" current. These #'s are for quad (dodge didn't offer true crew till 2010) & crew cab pickups, not cab chassis models. Guys might have to start buying extended cabs instead of crew cabs in the future..?

My 169" ram & 39' Loadmax came in at 64' 6". Not once in the 4 years I ran that combo was my overall length measured. The tandem was checked once too make sure it had enough spread to carry more than 20k lbs.

I'm not saying you need a new trailer though. You may get away with it for years. I'm not advocating this, but there are 1,000's of hotshots running around slightly over length. It only takes one lawman that thinks you look a bit long & pulls the tape on you..

Nice looking setup by the way..

Heads up for future authority applicants!
Once you get insurance and your BOC-3 filed, you can call 1-800-832-5660 and they can give you the actual date your MC will become active.
I filed on Sept. 24 / Insurance and BOC-3 done on Oct. 5 / MC will be active Oct. 11.
On the day it becomes active, you can call again to set up for your authority docs to be emailed and it takes 2-3 business days. Will also be mailed between 7-11 business days.

We have a call in as we speak... Just waiting for a call back!

Hey is it a DOT requirement for the VIN number to be on the door of the truck as well?

No. All that's actually required nowadays is legal name, & USDOT #. Visible from 50' in daylight..

    No problem.
I will say this, if you plan on running in Colorado, having the last 8 of your VIN is a good idea. They are one of the states that likes to pull you in for not having it. Not a problem, but the less interaction with bears the better.

I also have my GVW on the sides. If I ran a conventional twin screw at 80,000lbs I probably would not. But being a 4 axle rig, or hotshot they would sometimes walk out on the platform & ask to see the cab card because they had no idea what GVW I was registered at & wanted to make sure I was at or under..
