Well, we know how this is going to end up. He may be charged with manslaughter because he was driving on a suspended license. And the lawyer the family retains will be looking for a huge payday. Hope the company he was driving for has big pockets.

Put the phone down and pay attention mr. 4 wheeler... gonna be interesting to see how this one turns out..... I think they need to write tickets to people who drive slow and with their 4 ways on.... It is becoming a big problem

but the mere fact that the CDL was suspended would be enough to put him in deep crap.
i think that the courts are BS on suspending a CDL for lack of child support, which YES is very important to pay, but how many times does a drivers license (any drivers license) get suspended for ANY reason, and you are NOT notified.??
i think we read that a few times right here on THIS site....!!!!!!
was a time when one could plead something like "hardship" to avoid suspensions due to the CDL being the way you earned you money, to do what..??
PAY YOUR BILLS/FINES, etc..
but the courts (maybe the CDL rules can't say for sure) did away with the hardship plea.Last edited: Oct 13, 2019

So they they suspend his license because he didn't pay child support. Now loses his job and that will help get the child support paid how? Maybe they should have hauled him into court and ordered his paycheck to get hit every payday for the child support. And if he doesn't inform them of a job change lock him up.
Either way he is screwed now big time.Canadianhauler21, mjd4277, Cattleman84 and 10 others Thank this. -

the "limp-in mode" may be taken out of context by some, meaning to think they can stay on the highway, rather than to "limp on over" to the shoulder.
i cannot ever recall driving in a de-rated truck, nor "limp-in mode", so i cannot say what the top speed is for either situation...
would it be 10 mph, 30 mph, 50 mph..??
this i do not knowD.Tibbitt and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
