EXACTLY. If dealing with drivers was as simple as dealing with the usual truck stuff?

Some of my favorite moments sitting at coffee counters was back when the ice road truckers show was on. It seemed like every other driver was on some sort of list to run the ice road the next year. some of these guys claimed they already had and some had even driven across to russia. lol I would listen and go along with them till they got too far out there, then, without saying a word, slide my drivers license over to them, 9 out of 10 times they would take a look at it and get up and leave without saying a word. lol

Yep. one time my wife was with me and they started talking about how far they had driven on a blowout of all things. It was a case of first liar didn't stand a chance, the winner went coast to coast and back with 4 blowouts on the trailer. lol
My wife said we should write a book about all the stupid junk you hear at the coffee counter. lolbooley, FlaSwampRat, Barbeque and 2 others Thank this. -
When I swing through the terminal, I say hi to the TM and ask how it's going. He's usually dealing with yet ANOTHER driver problem.
At his desk, head in his hands, this is what he always says:
"Twenty-six drivers at this terminal, and it's ALWAYS the SAME FOUR DRIVERS!!!"CorsairFanboy, Tug Toy, Barbeque and 1 other person Thank this. -

Well i dunno bout others but i worked on my bosses truck all weekend at home. Talked to him for a few minutes this morning.. Said id get there when i could. They left the sheet in the mailbox and here i am at 8pm loading up. Ill get a text tomorrow with another pickup number and will see him maybe wednesday.
Its flawless. Neither of us has to pester the other, the truck is maintainted and we both get paid.Intothesunset Thanks this. -
They fired him for bringing a container chassis from Long Beach to Phoenix with absolutely no functional brakes of any kind.

When I first started driving, my trainer was one of those super trucker types. I called him Duck Dynasty because he had 2 teeth in his head, a long go-tee and talking like he was from Alabama, He bragged how he knew every inch of the I-5 on the west coast by heart, and refused to let me use my GPS because he didn't believe in them. He also didn't believe in dinosaurs, but that's another subject. After about the 5th time of screaming at me as I'm about to pass an exit he wanted me to take because he was talking so dam much, I got out my GPS and said if he didn't like it, drop me off and I'll find another trainer with the company. He gave in.
