I have spent my trucking career otr or regional but at times I have helped do other things. One week I helped out doing containers for swift I noticed it was the easiest thing I had done local wise. I know I didn't do a full container schedule since I was just helping but still. Plus it was a relief delivering. The Docks had self check in and out. Ain't have to deal wit a security guard taking 10 minutes to come out the booth

was a time when a driver would spend nearly an eternity looking for a good chassis. if the lights weren't working, the tires were shot, or the glad hand(s) were broken. then good luck getting anything fixed ASAP...or that day..!!

i'd hope that has changed in the past decades, but for me, even though i live in New England and not far from NJ, i'd never would be interested in can hauling.

No it hasn't changed. Not to mention the huge wait at times just to get into the rail yard at times.
