After reduce the filters I think this is the path, UPS turned me down for a moving violation (seatbelt), FedEx don’t attract me with the no-driving works doing docks, Costco and ODFL are out of living area, haven’t found anything else going home everyday. Thanks for your time.

Hold up, you're willing to lump groceries all day every day, but you don't want to work for FedEx Freight because you'll have to spend a few hours on a forklift?

The matter with FedEx is that I never been around that kind of job where I turn off a truck and start doing a second assignment (ironically what I’ll be doing on food delivery), in facts, and I probably don’t stated it in the right way, it’s more some kind of fear to be forgotten in a dock forever (just have 3yr with my license), sound stupid, even more now that I’m reading about self-created FedEx fears, but those were my thoughts before read your input, now make more sense, in other hand talking about delivery by hand, “been there, do that” (53” Dollar General, 3-4 stops) and I did well, so it was first escape plan, but you have reason, if I’m at tasting season let start with the unknown. Right now I’m thinking more with the heart than with the head getting crazy about last 4 weeks performance, wanting leave current job by next Monday. Thanks for the light.

Don't get me wrong, if you want to make good money fast, foodservice delivery will get you there quicker than LTL. But yeah I had to point out the irony in that, because you might eventually get tired of foodservice and want to look at other options.

I love driving a forklift, I wouldn't be sad at all if they forgot I could drive and left me on the dock. Driver rate without having to deal with drivers lol....it's a win win.

One of the things I actually miss about UPS. The ability to bid a yard job when you need a break from driving.

I jump on the yard work everytime one of the guys are off, it's nice to switch things up.

I bid a daytime fuel and wash job one summer while the regular fueler was on medical leave. It was mostly a great job except having to deal with all the crybaby drivers when their tractor didn’t get back in time for their start. Most of our tractors ran two full jobs a day and usually only had an hour or so in between shifts.

The terminal I am at is small, and doesn't even have one, but there are times that I would like to just get back to running a yard goat like I did in my early 20s.

I was thinking about food service when I get out of school. I graduate in December. Beats going OTR with a wife and 8 month old at home.

Sysco and Maine’s are always hiring here in the Syracuse, NY area and I will be applying to US Foods as well. I’m pretty sure I can bring in more than $40k in my first year, which is what I roughly make at my current company now which is metal fabrication.
