You can always try applying to company-sponsored training that covers most of the country. Swift, CR England, Stevens, CRST, or Werner, one of those might just take you.

That way you know you will have a job and they will know upfront about the violation so you won't have to go through paid training and then find yourself unhireable.

more than 15 over with a CDL; the second offense gets a year suspension of the CDL privileges and a lot of insurance companies don't like it even if it is a little old....

Unless it’s changed, it’s 3 mos. for second offense. Even then disqualified for Commercial Driving only.

My mistake, I looked it up, 60 days, and another 60 days for second offense.

Thanks for all the input guys!
I’m currently in contact with a lawyer who may be able to have the charge removed from my record. I don’t have my cdl yet so I’m pretty sure it’s legal. I read online it’s illegal to have certain charges changed/removed once you have your cdl by doing remedial courses or other things like that? Is this true? Or did I just not understand it

It is true. And options like traffic school go away once you get your CDL.

So what do people on here mean when they say lawyers keep their mvr clean when they get tickets once they have their cdl?

Lawyers get charges reduced, dropped or changed to non moving violations.

So they basically are able to bend the rules in your favor?

They use the law to help get you out of trouble. If such a law does exist. No bending needed. Unlike truck driving though, it took them years of college to get their license so you’ll have to pay them a handsome fee for their time.
