I see now your looking at company jobs.... What happened?

 

I believe they doubled his salary from what i understand from what mercer was paying him.

 

Poo Poo, not BooBoo.....makes sense now. LOL

 

Shippers love the simplicity of one call, one point of contact, rather than a couple mega's and a couple dozen to a couple hundred "independents" on their rolodex. No need to spend hours chasing down someone just call your broker/3PL and that's it.

And BTW other companies also have agents, Landstar come to mind first and foremost as probably the largest.

All the loads I am doing are direct shipments, and yes there are plenty of loads that come from brokers. However the fact that a broker offers a load to us, usually a cattle call load going out to dozens or more carriers by the way, does not mean agents are "cutting and pasting" loads from load boards.

I find it amusing that so many here have complained that they are not allowed to load from load boards if they so choose. I know there will be disagreement on this as usual, but if you really want a load from one of the boards it is very easy to do. The rate will be in the toilet but you can get the load no problem.

No need for me to "prove" there are direct customers since there are those here who believe what they want facts be ######, and besides it is not proper to list who they are on a public forum, just as specific loads and rates should not be discussed with anyone out side the company.

Sorry I didn't mean to imply you were, I understood you were just making the observation. I also combined other message comments all into one post, nothing of that was directed toward your comments.

Yeah, I dont get it. Mercer has quite a few direct customers and some that request specific trucks (if available) for various reasons. Sometimes it's that truck did a great job in the past, sometimes it's because the customer does a full blown background check and doesnt want to waste the time if they already have one on file. Is there brokered/3pl freight? Yes, of course. No one is disputing that. Do everyone wish there were MORE direct customers? Yes, of course, but that doesnt mean there are none. People asserting that there are no direct customers and calling others liars for claiming otherwise is a bit ridiculous.

 

Don't waste your time on them. They are so filled with negative energy that they only see what they want to see and intentionally blind themselves to anything that doesn't support their narrative. You would have better luck trying to get a progressive liberal to see logic.
