I need emergency home time and I'm picking up my load going home from here.
It was bad enough that the pickup was 3pm the day after I can be here. But then it wasn't ready at 3pm. They said 5pm. Asked at 5, they said 7pm. Decided to pick it up next morning.
Went in at 5:18am and guess what? Not ready. "It's all staged, they just gotta load it, it'll be another hour."
Anyone else ever had a bad experience like this at pactiv? I remember picking up here before and I'm pretty sure I had a similar problem before with them.

It's Mr Murphy.
Any time you have to go home, it's going to cost you in some way. In your case a seriously botched shipper.
What I do is keep a small black book in my time. Write down bad shippers and recievers. Engineer myself to be banned from them. Come to find out company does not send me there anymore. Whoo hoo.
Getting thrown out and your company told not to send me there again ever is really easy. Problem eliminated. Just don't over do it. You might find yourself in need of a company that has good places to ship and receive from.
Im surprised your shipper did not give YOU a hard time leaving them overnight. They would just load that on another truck and be gone. -
Update, 8:23 am. When it was not ready an hour after they said "it'll be ready in an hour" they gave me some BS excuse and that they promise they will call me when it's ready. Just went in and they said it's still not loaded, probably be ready at about 9:30 am.
Honestly, #### this place. I don't know if I've ever been at a place waiting for a load so long, and I've done reefer before (this is dry van I'm doing right now). -
If it's an emergency, why are you dealing with freight? Get home!

To be fair, it is not a huge emergency. I simply need to move out of my house by the 1st. If I don't, I will have to pay for it. Luckily it is not a lease company, it is my roommate who I will owe since I am technically not on the lease and he is. -

Update:
My DM called just before 9AM and I told her the situation. She said she was going to try and find me a different load. Yeah right. Well, at about 9:30, much to my surprise, they had something else for me to pick up in Coppell, TX going to Oklahoma City (that's where the original load was going) and they knew for sure it was ready. I went back inside the office at Pactiv and the load still wasn't ready. I asked for an empty since I dropped one when I originally got there Monday and they gave me one. I left, picked up in Coppell at about 1 and I'm in OKC now.
