DOT Physical and High Blood Pressure...

That’s what I discovered this last time.

 

I have been told that you can take a benadryl before your physical and that will lower the blood pressure.

 

Well I went to see the doctor this morning. Thedoctor said ooook. Lets try the theories. Using the above recommendations my BP was 175/93.
She said you want to do tried and true method now? The 3 oclock thing is fine with her and made sense. Instead she said to sit calmly with out talking and normal breathing for five minutes. BP was where it should be. 133/52

 

So are you saying if someone has allergies and they take benadryl for allergy symptoms that they cannot have a medical card / CDL?

 

Back when I started truckin school 14 years ago I wasnt on BP meds but had high bood pressure. So I popped a viagra a couple hours before the physical and Bingo, blood pressure lookin good and passed no problem. Shortly after I got some BP meds. Lower Blood pressure and a woody, not to shabby.

 

Benadryl is not a drug that will fail you, besides that a physical is not a regular drug test.

 

It works really well. I have had blood pressure issues for a while and it works well.

Medical guidelines call for no talking and resting 5 minutes before taking BP measurement. In today's busy atmosphere the staff won't give you 5 minutes unless you ask for it.
