I'm a life long ocean fisherman, and have owned boats for the last 50 years. When you fish in the ocean you get what's called your sea legs which is when your body adjusts to the movement and you're more stable walking around the boat as it rolls around in the surf. Usually when you get back to shore, your body feels a little off as you adjust back to dry land that isn't moving and you feel wobbly.

Sometimes after getting home from being on the road for a week or two, as I walk around my house I feel like I have my sea legs again and it takes a day or so to adjust to a stationary environment. Just curious if anybody else gets this, or am I having a stroke?

IF you were stroking you would be on the floor by now. Trust me.

Yes trucking is a form of going to sea. I used to have a great deal of trouble climbing out of my TT into a tiny Colt on friday night over speed, over twisting the steering wheel and abusing the shifter. its silly. But the body needed I guess a couple of hours to adjust to the tiny car. The #### thing was only around 1600 pounds. Versus 80000 plus all week (No powersteering in them days either) I tell you that Colt was a good car.

As far as wobblies, if you are not stroked out with very serious numb owies in a limb or section of your body, mind or head and neck you will be ok. Just keep walking about the block or around and around. You will get those legs eased up soon enough.

I have a bad habit of "Rolling" when I come out of the Ocean such as it is in maryland on the bay or tidewater. And it takes about two days to stop that. I work so hard against it but the body knows what it wants.

More importantly Ive been tested in the ears for balance. Thats where the action is. If you are infected, sick or otherwise having trouble up there in those ears then everything else about your world will be difficult.

But a true stroke will put you on the floor fast and you will understand two things. If you do not have someone to get help quickly, you probably will pass on relatively quickly right there. So I am inclined to encourage you to have a walk about. You will be ok.

The third thought I have for you is bowling. A couple of games at the end of a trucking week really sorts the body fast for me. Its really hard for me to bowl right now due to that stupid new joint (Which I am grateful for) the problem was the surgeon cut the main tendon to that entire leg and thats the exact muscle i need to finish braking after throwing the ball before i go over the fowl line in the bowling alley. I fall over instead. (Im working on that...)

If you have a activity that engages your body in high energy, a Hap-Kai-DO dojo vs 10 classmates will get you going fast enough... for example or something in sports you will erase that awkward rolling or wobblies really fast.

DO keep a eye on those wobblies. Document it. IF they become a problem you will hae the doctor understand patterns fast.

I am bad about only opening the door 2 or maybe 3 times in a 12 hour day, and I will be wobbly sometimes for the first few steps, never a day or two.

Sure that happens, along with finding yourself reaching for the shifter in your car.

Going from 5 days in a peterbilt to 5 miles in a yaris reminds me that i dont know how to drive standards anymore. Particularly when i cant find reverse.

The worst part is reaching for the park brake knobs in said personal vehicle.

Or actually owning a engine that small with a engine brake.

I can imagine it now. Some weak sauce pathetic

    TAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAP etc. UGH.

Let's have that Manly Pete with straight piped Kitty Cat big enough to drown your own words out as it passes by working the gears.
