WHAT IS THIS ?????

Well the equipment operator side of me says thats a choke lever . but i never seen a diesel with a choke on it.... Pull it or push it and see what happens

 

I think it's a charger for your phone,,oh, the knob, whatever you do, DON'T TOUCH IT! Everything would have been just fine if you left it alone.

 

If it was an old Detroit or a Mack, I'd say a fuel shutoff.

 

Fresh air/recirculate

 

You pushed it? What a marine. Dash mounted 2 speed axles went out in the 60's. I drove an IH 1600 cabover that had a column shift 5 speed and a 2 speed on the dash. Talk about a funky deal that was. 062 I think is right, it's a fresh/ recirculate control with the marking worn off.

 

I think it is the push, pull control for the air through the heater. Fresh air from outside, or recirculate.

 

Same control in my old 1981 , 9670. It worked flawlessly. You the human..were actually the "actuator" . of course one did not have to pull so hard on it as to destroy the knob. But some drivers could break a iron anvil . Not saying you. But the more drivers in a truck, the more destruction. I have looked at newer used trucks, and the interior looks like deranged, maniacs were in it. Lol.
