This load will make $0 profit for the company. I was due for a service, but Wylie only allows our Church Hill shop to keep 2 sets of filters in stock. And they won't allow them to order more until they use one (and they keep track via the repair orders). With all the trucks in and out of that plant, and they allow them 2 sets of filters?!?! Cheap arse mofo's!!!! So, I had the Carlisle Petro change it, and then had the Streakin Beacon give it a bath since there were greasy hand prints on my dirt.

They already have me set up on my next load, after I get empty in Quebec I head to north of Toronto for a Tuesday pickup of empty racks that are headed to Spring Hill.

They do seem to do a bit of preplanning and keep you rolling as of lately.

Sorta. I had 1600 miles 2 weeks ago, 1550 last week and a whopping 1900 this week...lots of short runs, most likely the runs the Wylie regulars don't want. And it's getting harder to get layover pay on runs that have way too much time on them, like this run to Quebec, I could have been there this morning, but this custome's lot is no place to spend 36 hours w/o restroom facilities.

I was in Church Hill on Wednesday, picked up going to Michigan, came back last night and left again today going to NJ for Monday morning.

Probably going to Carlisle or Laurinburg on Monday but Maverick keeps us in the dark 99% of the time so there is never any chance to plan anything. All you can do is manipulate your clock to hope that you will get something other than what you know that you don't want.

For instance, what I don't want is Carleton Mi after getting unloaded 50 miles away in Michigan with a full 14 available. So I roll the dice on Friday morning, sleep in and don't get unloaded really early in the morning since they gave me a 7 hour appt. window and the facility gave me an assist by leaving me in the door for 4 hours. I ended up rtr at 1400 with a DH back to Church Hill because some other early morning guys unloading somewhere in Michigan got the shaft instead.

Almost every time I've been unloaded in Michigan on a Friday morning I've been that guy sent to Carleton for a 1500 or a 1900 live load for a 400-500 mile lame ### weekend run to somewhere I'd never go near otherwise. Like Galax Va, or Wright City, Mo, or Davenport Ia during a major flood with 2/3s of the town submerged by the river.

    Lonesome Thanks this.

People up here must think we American truck drivers are nuts...I am 15 min from my delivery here in Quebec. Snow flurries are in the air, it's starting to get cold and where am I? Standing between my truck and trailer grilling burgers on my George Forman grill...:D

Yeah we're supposed to get the bottom end of that storm here on the island tomorrow. How's the truck handle in that kinda weather?

And you're in the new Anthem truck correct?

Still in a Pinnacle, just 1 year newer than the other one I was in, and with an empty trailer to boot. It does pretty good, we have traction control that taps the brake on any wheel it senses losing traction
