Just wanted to pick your brains here- do you guys ever successfully use the 'negotiations' on ITS, and if so, with what kind of regularity?

For my company at least, we so seldom see anyone use the negotiations tab, and it's usually for a patently absurd offer, that it's actually a notable experience.

    truckdriver31 and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

I use Dat so can’t help on that, but started watching the convoy app. They have some loads that have caught my eye. They have a load that starts at $2150 and closer it gets to pick up time it’ll be $2600. So they show their hand. I think I’ll bid $3k on it and see what happens.

I will usually make an offer using it when they have posted an absurdly low rate and it annoys me so I. Don’t want to call and endure the brain death to explain why a 110k load that is 14 wide can’t move for $3/mile

...how frequently do you see that? I knew some of my competition was braindead, but that's particularly bad.

actually fairly regularly. A surprising number of brokers don’t realize the complications in moving heavy and large loads.

    example from today

broker calls me with a load I clicked on on ITS.

He says it is 17 wide and weighs 90k.... I asked him what bit was - a crane. Gives me the model number. Except he doesn’t realize that it actually weighs more like 170k and the reason it is 17 wide instead of 12 wide is that tracks are on and extended. Sure you could probably move it as 17 wide but the cost involved would be 10 times as much.... so either one must educate them or explain to them why you cant do it

Again, it would be nice and help rates if people knew that this is not like moving a load of toilet paper. It takes equipment specific for the job at hand.

So yes, it can be easier to send them a price - sometimes a very aggressive price and they can scratch their head as why you would charge”soo much”

is it still available? @Humblepie can do it for $2.50 a mile all in if the deadhead is less than 1000 miles.
