Well, as a company driver, you can't say anything, they can tell you to go to the moon, and you better pack your spacesuit. As an O/O, it was easy, my truck is broke, I'll call YOU when it's done :salute:,,don't like it, buy 25 more daycabs. That usually stops them.

That reminded me of another favorite, this one dug up from my crewboss Team Temp days.

One of my crew people climbed down from one of the more troubled tractors ran over to me and said "Suh, this thing throwing codes out of fuel; it's Broken. What do I do? Please Suh tell me what do I do with this?"

    I smile and say this:

"Failures of company equipment is not our problem as Temps. If they want it to be our problem they can hire us as full time staffers. Clock out and go home for the day you did good job today."

I was standing outside building when he called. I had dropped trailer at receiver night before. He ask where I was I told him a city 500 miles away. He went haywire. I opened door with phone in hand. It was a good day. Lmao.

As a company driver if I say "It's a no go situation"... Then it's really a no go situation. If they dont like it I'll start packing my stuff. I'm the captain of this Ship, not some Desk Jockey steering a MacBook via Voice Command while he dials the phone.

My brother wanted to close his cell phone account because he was sick of dealing with this company. He called them & tried to reason with them to get his account closed. They werent obliging because he still had an amount of time left on his contract with them. He again pleaded with them to close his account to no avail. They wouldn't... or COULDNT, close his account.... period. It was impossible to close his account.
So for the next 3 months, he didnt pay his cell phone bill. Obviously.... they cut off his phone.

Upon noticing they had cut off his account, he used his wife's cell phone (with another company) to call his (now former) cell phone company. He got an agent on the line & asked to look up his account & asked if they seen the notes on his account of their previous conversation. They did. He simply stated........... "Now you see how easy that was?"......... and hung up.
