Your country let him in , your country can keep him.......
P.S. Do you have to buy a Canadian built trailer ? Or can it be built in the US...?

No, the trailers can be built in the US as well. The city has to put out a tender and manufactures will make bids. I'm not 100% sure of the procurement process as that is not my department. I know that the bidders need to meet our requirements and supply what we have requested. I believe there are some other things like we need to create a business case, and the trailer manufacture needs to meet requirements as well.
But no, we don't need to be Canadian only. As we buy Freightliners built in Mexico.
Also I am going though some information on load securement. What I need.
Like I said our machines are about 55,000lbs give or take so I want to have more then we need. So here are some ideas for securements needs
- 1/2" Chain - 8 chains @ 4 foot length (main machine tie downs). I would like them to have a grab hook on one end and clevis slip hook with latch on the other end
- 3/8" Chain - 8 chains @ 8 foot length (bucket tie down / small machine tie down). Grab hooks on both sides
- Ratchet Binder - 12 1/2" Binders
- Flags and Signs
That is what I got so far, currently creating a list for the boss. -
Magnets for holding flags to corner bits is a good idea too. -
Magnets are a good idea, but we will have flags on dowels for the rear of our trailer. As for the loads, we shouldn't have an issue using the bungees and tie downs as our machines are the same so we don't need to worry about where to put flags on different types of loads. I will put the suggestion in on the magnetic flags. Thanksbeastr123 Thanks this.
