Absolutely, engines have feelings too and they get tired as well. Can’t run one 24/7 and expect them to keep doing your bidding without balking. When you can, slip it a cold one once in a while too.

At the very least, give it the courtesy of a reach around.

Engines is designed to run , atleast thats always been my view on them. When i ran equipment We used to run old tractors from the 70s cuz we kept the engines running all the time it keeps it working. Its when u turn it off and it sits they slowly die. During summer with no apu i was running my rngine 24/7 from time i leave til time i get home 3-4 weeks. Now i have apu no need to do that. Newer emissions engines cant handle it but them old school engines its no problem , they will run and run as long as u keep giving it fuel

We had a 60 early dump one day that was to be taken to the farm the hard way, the problem was we needed it's engine to drive the air compressor to be brakes. That was where I come in. After we rigged it to the superliner via a 10 foot tow bar with a thousand bolts and washers.

We made it crank and fire. Two rods were about to be thrown through the block which was the original reason they were destined for scrap. But in the end, they took the last ride to the farm being towed there. A little bit of teamwork with my foreman and me at lights on the way. I was brake for both of us and he was the pull. So that was interesting.

Its probably still there 30 years on. Probably will fire up if you give it some fuel.

Theres a video on youtube of a 87 359 pete that been parked for 20+ years , gave it some fuel and new battery and took off down the road, was a good lookin rig, the owner parked it and put tarp under it, he passed away and truck sat there forever til some guys came n bought it. Nothin beats mechanical engine.. I dont even want to imagine wat would happen u sit one of these emissions motors for 20 years it will probably be a nuclear type of disaster and have a hazmat suit just to get inside with the rotton def fluid thats been sitting in the engine for 20 years, would not even get the key to turn on due to electrical being ate by rats and so on. What a shame the governement have done to the beautiful engines with their regulations and other bs

I think the 300 gallons of algae will speak for itself. Unbolt from frame, send to landfill and bolt on new tanks.
