E450 why is it lower towing capacity than a F450?

    The newer e-450's once they changed to the 6.0's away from the 7.3's were coil front ends same as the trucks. Although after all the headaches my current F350 is giving me.. I'm rethinking my truck situation...

    I had an 06 E-450.It had less HP due to turbo size (from space in the engine compt)the air cooler was different for the same reason.Also it had same size tires and brakes as a 350.I am sure all of that contributes to less towing capacity along with no goosenck/5th wheel option.

    Yeah, could be right because I notice they are all 16" wheels like a 350.. I actually have a E350 van with a 6.0. The reason the vans are less HP, isn't just the turbo but they don't have a intercooler and Ford leaves the engine at the international recommended HP of 230hp. The trucks were actually hopped up by Ford by 100hp over what International recommended. If you notice international trucks that have 6.0's are all 230hp not 320hp like the Ford Trucks.

    Due to this the van's didn't have near the problem the trucks had with blown head gaskets and so forth.

    I didn't have head stud or head gasket issues but did have turbo,injector,egr,rear main leak etc.etc.Ford paid more for warranty then I paid for the van including the plumbers box it came with.I just got a friday van I guess.

    Only thing I've had happen to my van is the alternator went out. My truck on the other hand.....
