I work as a CT/Xray tech in the Greenville, NC area and plan on handing in my 2 week notice next month to pursue getting my CDL.
There aren't too many options in the area as far as schools. Alliance in Benson, and RoadMasters in Dunn are the closest private schools, but I've heard mixed reviews.
Has anyone had a good experience with either one of these programs or am I better off at a Community College?
Nash Comm. College would be the only one close enough for me to attend that offers CDL training, but I've read that private schools offer better job placment. Do recruiters come to comm. colleges?

They have a "Recruiter Week". Many companies will come to Nash CC, to Recruit.
Between the two private companies, I would pick RoadMasters above Alliance, any day!!!
Btw, is Sage not in Dunn/ Rocky Mt., anymore?
Just curious
Best of Luck to you!!! -
X-ray. I left info for you on the Johnston Community College page. I recommend you go the Community College route. I have also heard good things about NCC/Sage school. As far as the other schools I would suggest that you visit there schools. Check out there equipment. I have a couple of people in my class that went to private schools in the area and the horror stories about the equipment or the lack of as well as the quality of teaching is startling.
kickin chicken Thanks this. -
