yea to know then what I know now. I would have never joined the army. I would have jumped on a welder and never looked back.

Where I am at the teamsters get paid 25 to $28 an hour. All they do is run around in circles hauling dirt or pushing a snow plow. MPE runs waste out of here down to the Hobbs New Mexico area or up to the salt lake City area. That's $27 an hour also. But when I say waste I mean the waste that glows.

I guess im doing quite well then. Got my CDL Nov 2016. My first year had its hiccups. This year I'm going to hit 70k+. I've been home daily the entire time aside from my first 3 or 4 months as a CDL holder.

And you get to find out your first day 500 miles from anything.

    Enjoy. *Mwah!* //TEASE....

Team is not for everyone. There are a percentage who really should not be paired off with any human at all. They are quite disgusting, uncouth, slovenly, smelly, bad at skills, constantly spacing out, demanding toilet time worse than a cookie monster 3 year old before a trip to the shots... and all sorts of other issues that could very well include MMR infections and so forth to your health.

It takes a hell of alot to commit your soul to God, your ### to the idiot holding the wheel and chugging red bull at sunset and all of that you ever have been as a distant memory by the next morning. You will not sleep for a while but bounce along in that shaker box for a while.

Two mountain lions confined in a telephone booth would get along better. Minus the damage to fang and claw.

Wow. To read some of these responses screams doom and gloom.

I started trucking full time in 2009, prior to that I worked at a farm equipment dealer,a ran the truck when something needed moved.

My first year of full time trucking, I ran regional pulling dry bulk tanker. I didn't work hard at all and grossed 54k. I stayed there two years until this job I have now opened up. I work 12 hour days, sleep in my own bed, and I'm closing in on 70k for the year. It's a small outfit, 20 trucks, and this is my second new truck. And I know without a doubt I can do better. But I'm happy here.

The money is out there in the right places.
