Well I did look into job bank and sent my resume to about 60 of those jobs and haven't gotten any response yet. Most of them are small trucking outfits with residential addresses listed as the company address. Honestly job bank is sketchy and I don't expect any responses.
Do companies hire new drivers, or do they simply manifest with 2 years experience

The job bank is filled with companies looking for drivers. The government doesn't screen the ads posted there. One quick scan of the daily list of jobs on there easily shows them all to be immigrant companies. I have been in trucking for 40 years out here and can spot the companies by the name's the choose. Yes I still get surprised from time to time. They used to bombard the site to get resumes and abstracts, and use those as proof to show they've been actively looking for Canadians to fill the openings. But gosh darn, aw shucks, they can't find anybody qualified to hire. The government workers are dumber than stumps, and are working under the mandate the immigrants and their companies are to be believed at all costs, and given special dispensations. So the government workers then gives the companies books full of LMIAs or whatever they're calling them now (have gone through 3 name changes). It used to be that way, and government workers would illegally give them 10 LMIAs. But it's changed, now they just hand them out to any company upon request, no proof of looking for Canadians needed. I won't go on about how now immigrant rookies are being charged fees to be allowed to drive and get paid dirt. The Globe and Mail did a good 3 article series on that and other scams. Search those out, they're very informational. But long story short, it's safe to say that 95% of the ones you see on the job board a Canadian wouldn't be hired or even contacted back in the first place. And if you have more than 1 year's experience, give it up, those companies won't want you, unless you speak their language and want to train and run team with raw rookies from the old country. Our industry has slowly been destroyed, by both major federal parties. It's all about votes for them, and big business profits flowing to them via corporate donations. It's hard for me to say that because I'm a capitalist through and through. Keep the rates low, and keep bringing in more immigrant votes.
