    It’s a platform roughly 10’ square, and you position each axle on it for a weight measurement. ;)

    It's probably a sad thing to say but in almost 20 years of driving the only scales I have ever been across were at coops. We never scaled anything at ups and never do at coke either.

    Probably not a big deal for the package guys, but feeder drivers definitely should have access to a scale IMHO.

    I was a feeder driver for years....never had a scale lol. There were guys crying about it...the ones who cry about everything.

    We got papers that had a estimated weight on them but I never believed it. I know better from driving a package car. I've had to use a hand truck more times than I can count to move a 1 lb package. Soooo much of that slips thru the cracks.

    Right. I learned very quickly never to trust what’s printed on paper.

    Don’t you love when that 1 lb box weighs more like 50? Enough of those on the back pup of a feeder load would cause a trailer that should be a lead to be pulled in the back. You can catch things like that with a scale.

    The other day I got dispatched in my single screw with a rail van that had 12k lbs of freight according to the bills. Rolled across the scale and it was 24k on my drives and 33k on the tandems. I’m no mathematician, but that doesn’t sound quite right...

    You’re looking at 68k gross for something that should have only been about 45k at the most.
