Parked at a Loves in Illinois. I was in a No parking area as the truck stop was full. Had gotten sleepy while i was driving. Well i only intended to take a nap for about 30 minutes. I fell asleep for six hours. Employee woke me up beating on the side of my door. This was in Hamil Illinois. The employees was extremely rude to me in how they handled the situation. I have parked at Loves truck stops all across this nation and never have i been treated and bothered like this. Well now Loves has been added to my list of not doing business with them. I know they wont miss any of my money. But they wont get it either.

    It happens.

That is one reason when I pick a spot in trip planning within 10 hour workday and 500 miles (With one extra hour as a protecting against violations if there happens to be no lawful prking.)

I choose spots such as this along the US 322 near Duncannon PA and US 15 above Harrisburg. When I finish my peaceful sleep by that Junitia River I know I can get to any city between say Providence and roughly Raliegh really quickly.

Don't let one jerk, who was probably nice when they started their job but dealing with drivers made them that way, ruin a massive place to stop

Appreciate your response. However did not intend to fall asleep their as long as i did. But never have i been waken by any of loves employees. I have been out here for six years now. I do trip plan but with all the accidents and weather related situations its always tough. But i understand what you are saying. Appreciate your response.

"No Parking" means just that. I'm sick of having drivers who turn the place into a one way deal when I'm leaving early in the morning. I personally think they should start booting and towing. Most all Love's are very small anyway, so any illegal parking causes a pain in the ### for those who are legally parked. Not what you want to hear, but I'm not the only one.

Just a suggestion, if I need a nap I just lean the seat back and crash out there. You won't oversleep and it doesn't look like you're there for the night

    I understand you clearly.

There is one thought you indicated. You intended to grab a 30 minute nap or a short rest because you had a big long day or night. Thats great. No problem. Except one.

Your body made it into a 6 hour restful sleep making repairs and paying what I call "A sleep bill you owe yourself"

I bet you felt pretty good, which was promptly destroyed by the store tinpot beating on your door.

I cannot tell you anything really. No parking is that.

I occasionally take over no parking areas when I had to and eaten tickets for it. I remember one day in Phillpsburg NJ off exit 7 at the 76 there I allowed the tractor to set the drive tires on a pile of about 30 bent and destroyed no parking signs in broaddaylight for all to see.

The local police gathered at my door, about 7 of them while I relaxed and watched them from the resturant plate glass window with a giant CAT hat to see about ticketing me who isnt there yet. What I should have done is sent the fuel boy to fetch all of them for a prepaid dinner on me. And they can write me a thousand tickets if they so choose after a nice motivating meal.

But no. They stand around my door almost 2 hours. I finished, paid and came out and of course they mobbed me. I took care of that ticket and quickly too. Nothing was ever said on my record as it was treated as a donation to the teddy bear fix tears on children program.

I completely agree with you. I wish more truck stops would boot these guys who park in "make a spots" out. I rarely ever stop at loves but if they start kicking these drivers out who do this, I will start giving them more of my business.
