Apply lot of rainx to your windshield like @Upinsmoke said. That stuff is amazing. I have a pickup that I shaved everything on including the cowel so it has no wipers and I can drive in Florida monsoons just fine because of lots of rainx. Key is to apply once a week for a few weeks. That will fill in all the imperfections in the glass and then it's just like once a month to maintain it. Rainx blades are the way to go too like everyone has suggested.

Im not certain if additional information made it through or were lost in the ether while posting. I'll try again one more time.

When you know a couple of hours before entering raging winter weather. Run your defroster on high for a minimum of 1 hour, Heated mirrors and wipers come on at 30 minutes before storm. When you get there they are going to be running.

Shut it down, because it is not worth the risk.

I just buy the cheap ones at Wally world. I usually pick up 2 pairs (4 blades total) at a time. There inexpensive enough to change when ever I want to change them. Sometimes they last a fee weeks and sometimes a few months. For about the price of a pack of smokes they could be replaced everyday.

10-4 on the Rain-X. And in the summer it makes the bugs come off easier too.

Wiper snob LOL - I don’t know how many times I’ve gotten into a different truck and the blades are junk. Falling apart. That’s the first thing I do is put some new ones on there. I usually get mid priced ones and change em often.

For winter driving, it's best to get a closed frame wiper blade rather than the open frame metal blades. The closed frame wiper blade resists freezing up and lifting off the glass. I also found that the curved blade held better contact than a straight blade that then tried to follow the window curve.
Don't go cheap, your life may depend on it.

Hmmm $4.99-7 a blade or $28-32 a blade. I'll go cheap and change often..the difference in price is enough I can change weekly if I want/need. But that's just me.

I’ve had pretty good luck with the brand scrub blade. They are a double wiper blade. I think you should be able to get them at t/a
