Have a 2001 Freightliner classicXL with 1994 N14 celectplus engine. When you turn key off engine keeps running, it will shut off the radio but that's about it. If you pull the wire off fuel solenoid it will die but with key off I still get the low oil psi warning and truck ABS light(been on for awhile needs a sensor) but those lights stay illuminated while key off. I can put fuel solenoid wire back on and it's Sparks showing it has power while key off and you can push button and shell fire up with key on or off. The abs light will dim a little when you turn key off but that's it. The radio is only thing that shuts off with key. Checked the 2 fuses behind battery's one was blown. Replaced it no change. Never had an issue where it won't shut down so not sure where else to go any help is appreciated.

Like the key switch? And how do you test it?

You may need to take off the ground cables before pulling the switch out of dash, the when you have it out look for wires leading out of switch that are rubbed and raw spots touching, then ck switch with 1 test power wire and test light to see if power is still on when switch is turned off, if it is you will need a new one?

Update for this morning. Tried to turn it off and it started to shut down then acted like the key was turned back on then die then back on and just continues till you just turn the key back on. Radio still shuts down and now some of the gauges like rpm gauge turn off with key now. Last night I killed it with fuel pump wire turned key off and disconnected the batteries (ground side for a bit) then as soon as I hooked them back up abs did it's thing and lights on dash came on and went off like I turned the key on but the whole time the key was off. I'm assuming the switch has gone bad? I pulled dash apart and looked at wires going to switch nothing is rubbed raw or touching what it shouldn't be all looks normal back there

Remove your center panel which reveals your breaker/relay panel. Pull out every relay that you see (even the hard to reach ones on top row) Replace all of the ones that are corroded green. You will have several. Report back. There is one more possibility........

Alright that sounds like something I'll have to do when not under a load. I'm currently making delivery's in Oregon this morning so I'll have to do that when done or home in KC. These problems never happen at home location always when you don't need them to happen

O.K. Now you will have to dig a little bit. In your rear, driver side storage compartment there is going to be your LVD (low voltage disconnect) module. You might have to peel some of the insulation back to find it. It looks like a small radio amplifier (google for a picture). You need to bypass this module. It will be clear to you how to do it when you find it. Remove the 2 cables from it and with a nut and bolt attach them together.
