Landstar broker will accept an open market freight contract for 1000 dollars and then make a landstar contract for 800 dollars and then take 35 percent off of 98 percent . You will make a living at landstar because they need you but if you do a Google search you will find companies that pay the open market contract and they will send you the open market contract and not a company contract and will take 20 percent leaving much more money in your pocket. This is what was happening to me when worked at landstar and didn't understand why I was making so little money while working there

I have always wondered how true it is...
But I have heard that Landstar agents, at least some or many of them, tend to prefer to broker Freight to outside trucks than to the BCOS because they make more money.blairandgretchen and mp4694330 Thank this. -
