I do agree that the bunk heaters work better and use less fuel but you can use the APU to charge without using the heat. I would bet the money you're saving in fuel between the bunk heater and not running the APU you're spending on batteries. Can't be that much savings.

I decided to stay at Traveloko for now. The only reason I was looking at Mercer was I thought they had more contract freight than they actually have. The spot market has been really bad this year, and was looking for something more stable, apparently I was barking up the wrong tree. The main problem with Traveloko is the idots on you tube and all the bullcrap,
and those two clowns are gone, so maybe things will settle down. Giving Mercer 25 percent of my gross when I only give Loko 14 doesn't make any sense, and I book my own with brokers I know and have pulled for in the past, without a "coordinater" in the middle.

 

This is a problem at Mercer as well with the quality of drivers them seem to get... I think the couple of YouTube celebrities they have are part of the reason.

 

Why is that? I only know of 2 guys and they do a great job from what I've seen.

 

When you have folks putting out videos on youtube have an audience that believes everything they see...

Someone like SuperTruckerDan who I know very well will flat out tell you that he has numerous people who have signed on to Mercer based on watching his Videos and will tell the recruiter/coordinator that they wanna run exactly like he does...

He will also be the first to tell you that if you didn't know him personally you would think hes lying when he says he doesn't make that much money at Mercer...

What it does it attract a lot of steering wheel holding idiots.

If i made the YouTube money and recruitering money as he does I'd be staying put too... Of course the company would be great...

 

So i was watching a youtube of a group of people that go around catching Child predators.. Turns out hes a former Mercer driver is on there named Wayne Stacy.

 

What a sick individual. How do you know he was a former Mercer driver?
