I forgot most of these old FLD trucks had the Ford style solenoid on the firewall

I replaced mine this past summer for the opposite reason. It wouldn't start.
First part I replaced, yep the $10 ignition switch

Haven't had time to mess with it. Had to reload this morning going back to kck. Now I got an air leak in transmission when in high side lol this has been a trip from hell. It's only been 20 degrees so haven't even thought of shutting off truck. When I get to better weather I'm going to test the solenoid on firewall. If that's not issue then when I get home and have a place to empty side box of tools and parts I'll search for the power box

    Good luck.
I just got home after 6000 miles.
Always nice to work on truck at home. I'm always apprehensive about working on truck away from home.
This trip I had to change my speed sensor. Nothing like hugging a greasy U-joint changing those electrical connections above the transmission..
Last person to do it broke the tab that keeps the ends together.
I had to one hand a cable tie while the other held the light.
Luckily I was in Southwest Oregon and it was 50 degrees.
