While a walking floor can also do similiar operations,there is a big difference in that a walking floor needs hydraulics whereas Joloda doesn't.
they even have a system with just manual power.
Harley Davidson uses it to deliver new bikes to dealers.

 

I've seen places like empty cans or bottles loaded like that. I believe package airplanes are loaded like that too.

 

I hauled computers to Dell one time with one of these type trailers. Big plastic plate we had to manually push into the back of the trailer. Forklift carried it to the rear of the trailer. It used air to raise the rollers. Couldn't set the trailer brakes as it needed the air.

 

Back in the 50's and 60's when I was a young kid all the beer trucks used to carry rollers, all the beer venders and ice houses had them too.
Could watch them guys all day long and wonder how they could do their job so well when they were drunk all the time.

I've seen rollers used in a lot of scenarios over the years, steel warehouses, grocery stores, commercial moving jobs, loading heavy skids and machinery in and out of vans.

In the 70's I used makeshift rollers, (8' X 3" pipe), to unload lumber from flatbeds if the customer had no forklift or help available.

Great idea, but an old idea.
