What are we arguing about again? I replied to your comment #77 where you said:
I have provided more than enough proof that the ELD does record distance. Why are you still disputing it? Now it seems like you’re trying to argue about it from a different angle, but ultimately it is clear that the ELD is capable of recording distance. There is nothing to it. Can we move on?

Sheesh! I thought elogs couldnt get any worse! I admit I was spoiled by my company's AOBRD that let me go 10 miles any speed before going on drive. Now its 5mph and my buddy says his goes on drive as soon as the truck moves. Just the other week I saw a guy scrambling to fuel so he could park before his time ran out. Its quite a sight to see us being made complete fools of by the powers that shouldnt be. Glad my daughter will be born soon and I can turn in the keys. 5 years was about all I could handle in the brave new age of nanny state trucking, maybe I will do local but OTR is finishing up for me here. We dont get paid enough to twist ourselves into these comical guidelines.

Now the ELD records statuses by the second, so we no longer have that problem. There is, however, a different problem with ELD. Say you are in sleeper status, and you move the truck at 3 mph, and then stop for 1 minute. Then start driving on the street. What will happen is that the driving time will actually start when you moved the truck at 3 mph. That 1 minute you spent sitting doing nothing will be counted as driving. There is a way around this. Make sure you change status (to sleeper or off duty) before you get ready to roll out in the scenario described above.scottied67 Thanks this. -

About the guy rushing to fuel, he could have just used “yard move parking” and called it a day. Or, he could have just crawled at 3 mph to park with his 4-ways on.Long FLD and scottied67 Thank this. -
