Should a driver pay for leaving their keys inside the truck?

I am not sure I agree with you, I just understand and that's okay... I gotta admit that I like the new exterior design of the recent Volvo's, and I am anxious to see what the inside looks and feels like, but haven't had any opportunity...

That said, I can't STAND the design of cars like Mini, Fiat, or Smart Car.... looking at them, I find myself looking for where the wind up key goes..... I teased a friend who had a smart car and offered to tow it with my BICYCLE if it broke down.... lol

 

When I get a new truck it has spare keys.
Before that when I got a used truck, if it didn't have a spare key I would just go to the shop and have them make me one. It was always kept in my wallet or pocket.
Companies DO provide spare keys upon request.

But if the driver is not responsible enough to keep a spare on hand and/or available, what then?

The company should not pay for the drivers negligence.
And negligence is the polite and PC term for it.

If I were to get nit-picky about it, I would say that the words intelligence and negligence are flowers of the same stem - one healthy and vibrant and the other sickly and pale.
Which would you rather cultivate in your own garden? Wouldn't you prune out those sickly and pale things?

That is one car I would not put on the lemon list.

First time should be on the driver. Second time the driver shouldn't be working there anymore.

These are highly preventable rookie mistakes. Your truck should be off and keys in the pocket any time you leave it to begin with. You're wasting fuel which costs the carrier money and then you wonder why you aren't getting raises.

Run your truck like you own the business whether you do or not.
