Would you drive for a small company that advertises their non-eld glider kit trucks?

No, a glider is designated in the VIN. Simply repowering an emission truck with an old engine doesn’t make it a glider.

I would be all over this. I come from the old days ( when truck drivers drove trucks) and to have a truck without all the extra BS on the motor is the best.
+1 for ask the other drivers.

Not only is it titled different, it is against federal law to put an old model engine into a new truck, huge fines if caught.

I suggest checking with your state. I know 100% that Tennessee does not have to be designated in the vin#. How do I know this you ask? Because I have one. Once the work was complete...the next year my tags were due I simply told them, with a copy of the receipt from my motor work, and now my title says “glider”.

No sense in arguing. It is what it is. People do it every day. States honor it every day. If my title says glider then the federal dot can’t do squat about it

Isn't a glider a new truck with an old engine?

I presume maybe in some states. But definitely not mine. It just says “newer”. Another example is my best buddy has a 99w900. He has a B model cat in it. He did the same thing and his title says “glider”. Has for about 5 years now.
