I did something today that falls into the gray area. I went to check my truck this morning. I had made up my mind what I was going to do last night. Midnight tonight ends the pay period. I’ve been sitting on this load since a week ago Wednesday. It delivers 6 miles from my house on Monday. I decided to do my end trip this morning so I’ll be paid for it on this pay period. It’s not the first time I’ve done this, nor will it be the last. The issue that came about was the phone call I got from Jake the on duty load planner. He wanted to know if I needed a load assignment. I politely told him no and the reason it’s showing in the system the way it is. I also explained that I’m not coming out until the 2nd. He understood what I did and was cool with it. I’m not saying it’s the right thing to do, but the once or twice a year I do it under these circumstances, in my little world, makes it ok. The only reason I did it was to cover my deductions, that way I’m not carrying over any IOU’s.

Notice anything unusual about the second picture? Yes, my friends, the inspection ran out on this trl in August. AUGUST!!!! WTFH???!!! IMO, each and every driver that has hauled this trl since then should be written up or fired. Is it not part of our job to pre/post trip? I can see if maybe it ran out at the end of the month prior and it’s like the first few days of the next month, but 4 flipping months? Now it’s loaded and needs to be in CT. Sheesh!!!! Hope the shop will do a quick inspection on it since the trl shop is closed today. That is all. Carry on.jarhead0311, JohnBoy and runningman0661 Thank this. -
