ELD full compliance

    There are actually many things that technically should be logged as on duty, but nobody does it because you wouldn’t make a dime in this business. Just imagine logging on duty:

    Trip planning, trip sheet, fixing a headlight, thinking about business, spotting a driver, fuel desk, mechanic shop desk, trucker path app or any other app, making a call related to your work like to a truck stop, truck wash,...

    It’s insane, but I believe we’re heading there unfortunately.

    All these people just accepted ELOGs won't fight against anything, they could come up with a law requiring you to allow the DOT to finger your ### and they'll say it's a regulated industry and if you don't like it get out.

    In theory, I agree.

    I doubt dot will start writting tickets, but the problem comes when a driver ends up being part of a civil suit. Opposing counsel will try and use it to show the driver "was not adequately rested". There is enough data in the erods to hang the most rule abiding driver.

    With the output file now, showing truck locations every 1 minute or so, you had better not crawl in the Blue Beacon truck wash under 5 mph hoping you can get away without logging it as on duty.

    Accepted? IT was forced upon. The only way to fight it would be buying 1998 Cascadia or those back to freedom ELDs from Russian friends. There is, neither there was any real way to fight it.
    I only am trying to see what sort BS can we potentially run into, now when the full mandate is in play.

    Sure there was, it was attempted by one group for sure and most people on here made fun of it and called them crazy outlaws, now all of us driving older trucks are just going laugh at the new Freightliner drivers complaining about the cold finger in ### treatment at scalehouses while we continue running paper logs and taking backroads.

    Nothing is Forced upon unless "We the people allow it-

    Did you Sign the Petition in 2012 Voting against an ELD fir infringement and self Submission to Guilt these devices cause?
    Did you sign the latest petition to possibly have Congress exonerate 1-2 truck carriers with safe records?

    People Allowed this to happen-0 I Didn't,Because I love my Freedom,My Job,My Customers and Non Ridiculous Laws that Benefit Other instead of me.

    I Pay Taxes,Im a proud American....I Wont Let an E-Log Mandate grab a hold of my daily activities and make me about as tall as a 5 year old schoolboy.

    It comes down to money. The ATA has the money. And OOIDA was idiotic in fighting the first mandate in my opinion. Why on earth would they challenge it when it was only going to be for the bad apples? Then in 2012 when it was part of the MAP21 bill the one good argument had already been addressed. So in 2015 there wasn’t much OOIDA could do because their pockets weren’t deep enough.

    There are ways to not run one. But those of us who aren’t interested in running 21 year old equipment have chosen to deal with it. I ran 150,654 last year with an ELD so I’m sure others can figure out how to make money.
