I finally got a bid run this year, and it completely changed my life.

I never had a bid run across three different companies. This is literally my first bid since I started LTL in 2007.

And I know I was getting close to a bid after 5 years at ABF, but by then I was so burned out and hated that place so much... It was worth it just to get out of there.

And people wonder why I'm crazy. Lol I guess it has a lot to do with being on-call for 12 years.

You’re a better man than I to be able to tolerate being call for that long.

I don't know if "better" is the word. Lol

I was really happy at Yellow. I was sad to see them go, and sad to see what they became by the time I got called back to work after being laid off.

ABF was a long-term port in the storm.

And now if everything goes right, I will just retire from here. It's taken a long time to get here.

Wow that's a long time, I have been running wild only since 2015, over four jobs now, the first one had I stayed put I would have moved up five spots and probably on a bid, but me and my wife decided to relocate and I started all over again, the 2nd and 3rd jobs were what I would call "I did what I had to do/do something different jobs" they were both bulk/chemical haulers, the 4th is now Saia and I hope this is it and I can retire there and call it good.

    LtlAnonymous and McUzi Thank this.

I would not be a huge fan of the driver-facing cameras, but I hear they pay well. Good for you.

    USMC 3531 Thanks this.

My final numbers. I took it easy the last few weeks for peak season. The mental break was worth it.

Only working far fewer hours. He did about 500 hours less than me, and made $35,000 more. Lol I can't wait to be at top scale.
