If you’re not getting paid for waiting it’s no one’s fault but yours.
You have complete control over it.
You want the government involved? Think social security.

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.

If you’re a company driver, find a company that pays detentions.
If you’re an owner operator, demand it from the customer or find a different customer.
    It’s basic business.

How exactly do you have complete control over it?

You’re probably right. After 4 million accident free miles, “driver” seems unfair.

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.

4 ma ma ma million miiiiiiles!
Everyone remembers the 100,000 miles per year average. Nobody remembers 30 years ago if got 2000 miles in a week that was bust ###.
Or 55mph days when it took 60 hours to go from coast to coast.

Bean Jr. and p608 Thank this.

You should contact this web site to verify your record. According to them, the highest number of accident free miles on record is:

William Coe safely drove 3,001,276 miles in a commercial truck. He set the record between February 12, 1986 and March 14, 2009.
