Is the living area in your truck as comfortable, capacious and commodious even as a small travel trailer or a small RV? Does your employer even pay your motel/lodging bills? Do company terminals have full-on living quarters for drivers?
Do you have any of the following available with easy access to you over the road for living accommodations?
-showers
-stoves and range ovens
-refrigerators
-sinks
-dishwashers
-freezers
-running water
-hot water
-bathroom sinks
-washing machines
-clothes dryers
-toasters
-blenders
-cupboard space
-counter space
-flush toilets
-vacuum cleaners
How HUMAN or inhuman is life for a driver?
How do members of the species Homo sapiens actually survive in one of those rigs?
How much CIVILITY does the life of a truck driver have?
Does Swift and others even understand that drivers are only HUMAN?
Is being a HUMAN BEING a serious handicap for being an OTR driver?
If you are living cramped like a prisoner in a jail cell you might thank the lack of unions for OTR drivers.
How much actually personal LIVING space do you have on the road?

Whoa, whoa, hold on, pull the Johnny Bar, you're asking a lot. 1st, things truck-wise have never been better. Years ago, we slept across the seats, or if you were lucky, a 36" sleeper, we called "the coffin". Today, trucks are rolling apts. and while nice things like showers and toilets are not very common, tv's, refrigerators, Wi-Fi, have changed trucks dramatically. The other things ( toaster, wash machine?)are still relegated to a truck stop, which today, are actually mini malls that cater to all your needs, some even have barbers and dentists. Trucking is a solitary job. If you go into it thinking it's a jail cell, that will never work for you. You may go 2 or 3 days without a shower. Cell phones and social media have made the truck drivers life a lot easier, but with it, you lose the privacy one set out to have in the 1st place. Companies today are more concerned with treating drivers right, they have to, or the driver will find another that will. Doesn't sound like you would do very well.

We should start pulling 20 ft trailers. That way we can have 50 ft of humane living space in the tractors for king sized beds, washers/dryers, toasters, toliet/shower, sink with running purified water.
I would also request a special need tor a Jacuzzi due to working in a freezing cold reefer... And I would like to get paid to use it.
How does a homo sapien actually survive in a cubicle? For me that was hard. The truck, not so much.Last edited: Jan 7, 2020

With out adding personal comments, the answer to your question is. No we do not have most of the items you listed in, on, or with, the truck.
However all are available when needed at the truck stops. The truck is a tool to make money! Campers and rv's are pleasure vehicles designed primarily for fun. Therefore its not fair to compare the two.
I will however, wholeheartedly agree with your last statement. Truckers are for the most part right wing repubs, and have been conditioned to be anti union.
Conditioned so throughly, most dont realize thier dislike of unions. Is similar to biting your own nose, just to spite your face.
So forget about companies paying for hotels during our 34 hour reset, or terminal with decent living quarters. As a rule, that just ain't gonna happen!!
Also prisoners have more space in thier cell, than drivers do in thier cabs. However drivers can get up, go out, and leave at will. So that's not a honest comparison either.Tb0n3, Blue Zombie Trucker, WesternPlains and 4 others Thank this. -
All those amenities mentioned.....I actually dont keep that much in my truck. I don't have a tv, fridge or anything like that. If quit my job, it's easy to pack up everything and go. If I have to switch trucks, it doesn't take all day to do it. The era of trucking is one in which you constantly have to stay moving, you know being efficient with time. I am too tired when I park to even think about tv or games. I have a tablet with hulu in the event I want to watch a show or movie. Trucking isn't meant for your life to be like you have it home.

Unless you get a truck with a custom sleeper other then A/C a bunk and a few closets is what your going to get. OS-OW guys get hotel rooms and a tv and microwave is optional if you have a inverter.
if your rig also has shore power then you can essentially park at RV spots bobtail if they can get you in even with trailer in some spots.m
as far as human part your only worth what you make, if your worth more I’m pretty sure you’ll be a CEO of a company and not a driver.WesternPlains Thanks this. -
