HOTSHOT TRUCK CDL TRAINING IN NJ PA & DE

My brother in law talked a lot like you two years ago. Bought a big shiny rig, a trailer - went into debt for both.

Then tried to borrow money from me to pay his insurance. I think it was 24K USD for a six month premium. He's a crook, and I'm sure he was trying to skim me little but, the consensus seems to be that insurance is going to be between 3 and 4.5K a month for your first two years.

So with a decent truck, decent trailer, and insurance you need a minimum of about 120-140K just to go pick up your first paying load.

Are you aware that removing L, O, & E restrictions will require a whole new drive test?

Start googling course catalogs for local community colleges, looking for CDL programs. Chances are good that those kinds of courses will be cheaper than private training + vehicle rental, along with a 2nd (MUCH more expensive) vehicle rental down the road when you likely realize that hotshot/mini LTL/OTR in a pickup ain't all that the YouTube channels & craigslist ads & recruiters make it out to be.

Long story short, pull your head out of your butt. Don't cut your own Achilles' tendon before you even start the race.

Get an UNRESTRICTED CDL with as many endorsements as you can pass.
