It’s really quite perplexing why DOT requires you to pass a hearing test for safety to be able to drive and then all these clowns drive around oblivious to what’s going on around them with ear buds in their ears?

Or why the company doctor has me in a large room trying to break the whisper out of 50 people being interviewed while waving away the official audiogram from a previous day or two prior to coming to Orientation.

FMCSA explained to me that company can reject hard of hearing or deaf regardless if they meet standards or not, in other words companies can discriminate and be stricter and choose people with just perfect hearing if they want. And it's legal.

Just have to find another company.

I know some in the past wont forget me in this lifetime to be sure.

    To explain one time further.

Being deaf or somehow never issued something in life at birth is not a handicap. My bones tell me sometimes what the problem is from sound source of the problem. That flapping tire works it way up my foot and boot and I think about that feeling for a minute then consider all of my tires visually, stopping to check each one of 18 of them if need be. If I havent also seen flying rubber chunks and tread. Bombs are self explanatory. Now you have two tires needing replaced.

Other senses in the body, particularly the eyes take over. I see so much it's almost overwhelming in real life. I learned to turn it off and behave. I find video training to be interesting, no draw or draw or get shot or not shot or good shoot bad shoot. A little twitch without intent is not a problem from the bad guy. But certain actions physically? Im already ahead of him.

My favorite exercise is disarming my wife, by take the gun from her hands (A toy gun... pink from walmart) I give it to her, she points and waits. I wait watching her eyes. The minute or instant her eyes forget the situation the guns mine. Thats all I need. Inattention from her. if you wait long enough, her eyes shift, shoulders slump tension goes away and snatch. All gone. Now what are you going to do?

Deaf? HA I laugh at it for years. I make the truck a part of me. Not the other way around.

It makes me nervous to drive with loud audio, I can't hear the truck if it starts to complain and I'll find a surprise later on
