    1. Can anyone shed some light on whether or not hot shots who are interstate have to comply with hos? I am above 26k empty.

    2. Using the fsc formula I ended up with $1.32. This was after multiplying by the mileage. What do I do with this number. I know I shouldn’t be adding 1.32 to a rate?

I’d appreciate any help someone would have.

    1. Any CMV over 10k lbs gvwr requires logs.

I'm sorry, but if you don't know this basic of an answer how in the world do you plan to succeed in this industry?

Less than 172.5 statue miles as the crow flies, provided you return to the exact starting spot at the end of your trip.

Once you breach 172.5 get out paper logs and start logging HOS at the point of Breach.

Not too familiar with FSC. Are you saying your truck is burning $1.32 worth of fuel per mile?

The FSC is to compensate for higher prices for fuel over a baseline. I think it is $1.25 a gallon. $1.32 per mile sounds way off!

Thanks for the info thus far but I gotta ask this. My partner is insured and can only travel up to 500 miles. He DOES NOT have an ELD and is under the assumption by advice he’s been given that he can travel more than the 100 air miles up to eight times a month and not be required to log anything. Has anyone heard of this? Thanks in advance

No more than 8 days in any rolling 30 is the regs.
And he has to graph log on paper, just doesn't need an ELD until the 9th day.
And it's 100 air mile radius. He can do 600 miles a day as long as that radius isn't breached.
