My location is an oddity for sure within the company. I could have gone to a couple other locations that the company has within reasonable driving distance, but I was not interested in being in the union.
I personally am one to budget for 40 hours when I am an hourly employee. I'm guaranteed 40 hours at this location, but the insurance in the second job offset is for during the slower time in summer is to maintain levels of money that isn't earmarked for anything important.

Another thing that use to bug us with rookie fuel haulers. If you have diesel and gas to drop at a station, drop the diesel first then flush with the gas. Keeps the hoses nice and clean. If you have all diesel then at least cap the hoses. Nothing worse than a hose tube or tray covered with diesel.

Technically your H.O.S. from your M-F gig transfer over to your sat gig. I would make #### sure you get 34 reset in before you start on monday. Something happens d.o.t. will look back and your screwed.McUzi Thanks this. -
Managing hours shouldn't be an issue, I generally don't expect to work more than 50 hours at my m-f job. I brought this up during my interview with the fuel company and they were pretty understanding. They told me as long as I let them know by Friday night what I'd have available in my cycle, they'd adjust my dispatch for Saturday if I'd be in jeopardy of violating the duty clock for the week.
I'll definitely have a 34 hour reset completed by the time I punch into my F/T job each week.
Which brings an interesting situation:
- M-F job runs on a 60/7 clock
- Sat job runs on short haul exemption as well as a FMCSA exception excluding the requirement for their drivers to take a break, so long as the trip will be completed within 14 hours. The explanation the Sat job gave me was that with this in mind, they are operating on a 70/8 clock.
- As I understand it, the way I have to adhere to HOS between two companies, the M-F gig I won't be able to perform any driving at THAT COMPANY past 60 hours, and the Sat gig I wont' be able to perform any driving period past 70 hours total for the Sat company.
- Watered down, I can work 56 hours at the M-F gig, and 14 at the Sat gig, but once I pass the 60th hour at the Sat gig, I would be unable to perform any driving work at the M-F gig until reset.
