VNL. The skirts are loose, is there a way to fix them? I tried pushing an old rag into the rubber bushing where the U shaped cut out on the skirt slides in, that worked pretty good, but I was thinking of something more permanent. Possibly something on the latch pin?

You must be referring to the fairings.

My company 579 had loose fairings. I mentioned this to the service manager while at a dealership and he looked at it then informed me that the rubber bushings needed replacement, but that the repair cost would be under warranty.

My company only had to pay for the parts and shipping.

If you are referring to the fairings under the passenger and drivers side the round rubber bushings on the bottom and the square ones on the top do wear over time. They are cheap and easy to replace, 2 wrenches(14 or 15mm, don't quote me) and you are done in 5 minutes. Don't buy the metal tube that the rubber spacers fit onto that the bolt goes threw unless you really need it. If you are meaning the fuel tank fairings then that is a pain. Do not take them off until you have the special metal fitting roughly half way from the front that tightens the fairing to the front fuel tank strap. Many volvo places do not stock them and special order them. It can take days. Unless you want to drive without the fairing on.

Thank you much. I wasn't sure if the pin part of the latch was the issue or those bushings. I'll get those and replace.
    Thanks again.

yep. all those parts in that system do wear out due to vibration. For a top notch job replace rubber bushings, latch handles and pins.I think all those components come in a kit from Volvo. I'm not sure if the hard plastic parts that the pins enter are included but you'll want to replace those as well. I usually buy the bolts and nuts for those as they are quite lightweight and easier to snap off and replace than trying to save.

Thanks, I'll look around for a kit. You don't have a part number, do you? I'm sure it'll be cheaper online.
